Terms & Conditions

Last updated August 23, 2026

About this document. This sets out the terms on which eUKarea's free tools and paid programmes are provided. It has been drafted to reflect eUKarea's actual product and practices as closely as possible, but it has not yet been reviewed by a qualified solicitor and should not be treated as final until it has. If you're reading this as a prospective user: everything below reflects how the Service actually works today.

1. Who we are

eUKarea is operated by Gregory C. Obidiaso, trading as eUKarea, a UK-based individual (sole trader at the time of writing; company registration is planned). References to "we", "us", or "eUKarea" mean Gregory C. Obidiaso trading as eUKarea. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

2. Medical disclaimer

eUKarea is not a medical provider and does not practise medicine. eUKarea does not diagnose any condition, does not advise whether you should have surgery, and does not replace your relationship with your GP, surgeon, or physiotherapist. Every decision about your care remains yours and your clinician's to make.

Hospital search and waiting-time information is provided to help you exercise your existing NHS Right to Choose. It does not constitute medical advice or a referral. A referral only becomes real once your GP or clinician acts on it.

Exercise, prehab, and recovery content is a general starting template based on the information you provide. It is not a substitute for individualised clinical assessment. Your surgeon's or physiotherapist's specific instructions always take priority over anything generated by eUKarea, and you should stop any exercise that causes pain beyond what you would normally expect and seek clinical advice.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, including but not limited to signs of infection, blood clot, chest pain, or difficulty breathing, do not use eUKarea. Call 999 or go to your nearest A&E. For urgent but non-emergency concerns, call NHS 111.

3. Who can use eUKarea

You must be at least 18 years old to use eUKarea. The Service is designed for people who are UK residents seeking NHS-funded or self-funded hip or knee replacement care. If you are a parent, guardian, or carer using the Service on behalf of someone else, you are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate and that you have their consent (or legal authority) to act for them.

4. Accuracy of information

Waiting times shown on eUKarea are indicative figures, generated as example averages around verified national and regional statistics (NHS England RTT data, Public Health Scotland, StatsWales, Digital Health & Care Wales, and the Department of Health Northern Ireland). They are not live, per-hospital data. Always confirm the actual current wait directly with the hospital, your GP, or NHS My Planned Care before making a decision. Hospital driving times are typical estimates and do not reflect live traffic. Care Quality Commission ratings apply to England only and reflect the most recently published overall rating at the time shown.

We work to keep this information current and clearly labelled, but we cannot guarantee it is error-free or fully up to date at every moment, and we accept no liability for decisions made solely on the basis of figures later found to be inaccurate. This is why we always direct you to verify directly with the hospital or the NHS e-Referral Service before relying on any figure shown.

5. Free services

eUKarea's core tools, hospital search, waiting-time comparison, and the GP-ready referral letter, are free, do not require an account, and always will be. We do not charge hospitals or providers for inclusion, and no provider can pay to change its ranking, rating, or displayed waiting time.

eUKarea offers three optional paid programmes: Prehab (a recurring monthly subscription for the period before your surgery), Aftercare (a recurring monthly subscription for after your surgery), and the Recovery Programme (a one-off payment covering six months, including direct phone access to a physiotherapist). All three are delivered by a registered physiotherapist and are subject to the medical disclaimer in Section 2 above.

Payment processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's terms for the transaction.

Subscriptions (Prehab and Aftercare)

Prehab and Aftercare each renew monthly until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged again after that. We do not currently offer partial refunds for the unused portion of a billing period.

Prehab is intended for use before your surgery date and is designed to help you stay steady and safe while you wait, not to build strength beyond what's needed for that period; because of this, its plan intensity is deliberately capped and will only ever hold steady or reduce, never increase, regardless of how your check-ins progress. Aftercare is intended for use after your surgery and, unlike Prehab, is designed to progress as your recovery genuinely improves. Nothing prevents you from subscribing to both at different times as your circumstances change, but they are billed and delivered separately.

One-off purchases (Recovery Programme)

The Recovery Programme is a single payment covering six direct phone sessions with a registered physiotherapist across six months from your purchase date: an initial call, followed by five progress reviews timed to the points recovery typically turns. "Guaranteed" refers to guaranteed access to these six sessions within that six-month window; it is not a guarantee of any particular clinical outcome, and your surgeon's and physiotherapist's clinical judgement always takes priority. If you have not yet had your first session, you may request a full refund by contacting us. Once your first session has taken place, refunds for remaining sessions are considered on a case-by-case basis, so contact us and we'll work it out fairly. Sessions not used within the six-month window are not carried forward or refunded, except where required by law.

Price changes

We may change prices for new subscribers at any time. If we change the price of an active subscription, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before it takes effect, and you may cancel before the new price applies.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: provide deliberately false health or contact information in a way intended to mislead your care; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or scrape the Service beyond normal personal use; use the Service for any unlawful purpose; or impersonate another person. We reserve the right to suspend access for anyone who misuses the Service in these ways.

8. Intellectual property

The eUKarea name, logo, and the design, text, and code of the Service are owned by Gregory C. Obidiaso trading as eUKarea, except where otherwise credited (for example, NHS and government data sources, which remain the property of their respective publishers under the Open Government Licence). You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, resell, or republish the Service or its content without our permission.

9. Third-party links & affiliate disclosure

Some links on eUKarea, for example recommended recovery equipment, are affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which hospitals we show you or how we rank them; hospital ranking and waiting-time information is never influenced by affiliate or advertising relationships. Equipment recommendations reflect what our physiotherapist would generally advise, not what pays the highest commission.

10. Service availability

We aim to keep eUKarea available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control (for example, an outage at a data source or hosting provider). We are not liable for any loss arising from the Service being temporarily unavailable.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Termination

You may stop using eUKarea at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms (see Section 7). Where you have an active paid subscription, termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid, except where required by law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as the Service grows or as we take further legal advice. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. If we make material changes, we will post a clear notice on the site. Continuing to use eUKarea after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law & complaints

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, regardless of where in the UK you access the Service from, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the Service, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly, see Section 15.
